Graduate Assistant Learning Assistance and Resource Center (LARC)

The Learning Assistance and Resource Center (LARC) and the Writing Center are seeking 4–5 motivated, skilled Graduate Assistants to join our team in a variety of impactful support roles. These positions offer meaningful professional experience in student success, higher education administration, program development, assessment, and innovation.

Graduate Assistants will contribute to both day-to-day operations and high-level projects that strengthen academic support services across campus.

 

Available Focus Areas

Applicants may indicate interest in one or more of the following areas:

1. STEM Tutoring Support

Provide tutoring support in high-demand subjects such as:

Chemistry

Physics

Mathematics

This role supports student learning directly and contributes to the success of tutoring services.

 

2. Marketing, Communications, and Outreach

Support marketing efforts for LARC and the Writing Center by:

Developing a strategic marketing plan

Assisting with the creation of marketing materials (flyers, digital content, documents, etc.)

Communicating with campus partners and professional staff

Researching best practices in academic support marketing and outreach

This role is ideal for students interested in communications, higher education, or program development.

 

3. Annual Report Development & Assessment Support

Contribute to the development of a comprehensive annual report by:

Collecting and analyzing program data

Using an existing executive report template to design a polished, professional report

Helping create a sustainable reporting structure that can be replicated in future years

Supporting assessment and data-informed decision-making

This role is ideal for students with strong organization, writing, design, and analytical skills.

 

4. Partnership Development & Campus Collaboration

Support the development of a structured partnership model by:

Assisting in the creation of a replicable framework for campus partnerships

Serving as a liaison with campus offices and programs

Helping systematize how departments collaborate with LARC and the Writing Center

Supporting outreach initiatives and relationship-building

This role is ideal for students interested in leadership, program development, student affairs, or higher education administration.

 

5. Safety, Space Utilization, and Operational Planning

Support efforts related to:

Developing safety procedures and protocols for professional and student staff

Partnering with Public Safety to evaluate and improve space utilization

Contributing to operational planning that supports a safe, effective learning environment

This role is ideal for students interested in operations, policy, organizational systems, or student affairs administration.

 

6. Technology, Systems, and Navigate Implementation

Support an emerging initiative to explore the use of Navigate as a primary registration and scheduling platform by:

Participating in planning and implementation meetings

Assisting with pilot development and testing

Supporting documentation and process design

Potentially continuing work into Summer 2026 as the pilot expands

A background in computer science, programming, systems thinking, or technology is strongly preferred for this role.

 

Preferred Qualifications

Current graduate student at West Chester University

Strong communication and organizational skills

 

Interest in student success, academic support, or higher education

 

Ability to work independently and collaboratively

 

Relevant experience related to one or more focus areas

Reliability, initiative, and professionalism
