Graduate Assistant - Student Ambassador Program Development

Position Summary
The Graduate Assistant will support the development and implementation of a Graduate Student Ambassador Program designed to enhance graduate recruitment efforts. This role is ideal for a student with experience in program development, event planning, or student engagement who is interested in shaping a new initiative and contributing to graduate admissions strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design, development, and administration of a Student Ambassador Program, including structure, goals, outreach, and promotion
  • Help recruit, onboard, and train student ambassadors across graduate programs
  • Collaborate with the admissions team and Graduate Coordinators to align ambassador activities with recruitment goals
  • Coordinate ambassador participation in recruitment events (in-person and virtual)
  • Develop materials and resources to guide ambassadors in sharing their experiences and answering prospective student questions
  • Track participation and gather feedback to assess program effectiveness and recommend improvements
  • Support communication efforts with ambassadors and prospective/accepted students

Qualifications

  • Must be a WCU student matriculated into a graduate degree program (master’s or doctoral)
  • Experience with program development, event planning, or student leadership initiatives
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a limited-hour role
  • Enjoy engaging with diverse student populations
