CTQA Graduate Assistant
Description of Duties: The Graduate Assistant (GA) will assist in coordinating various programs and services for the Center for Trans and Queer Advocacy including but not limited to:
- Developing and facilitating educational trainings (e.g., Trans Advocacy, From Allyship to Advocacy, Intersectionality in Practice)
- Assisting with Peer Educator student development
- Oversee, plan, and implement programming initiatives such as the Ram I Am programs and the Queering the Conversation Series
- Supporting LGBTQIA+ focused student organization development
- Support general communications, marketing, visibility and outreach efforts
- Provide in-office support for LGBTQIA+ students, faculty, and staff
- Assist in the development of manuals, handbooks, presentations and other resource documents
- Other duties as assigned
Benefits of the Positions: The GA will be provided various professional development opportunities, departmental meeting participation, and committee involvement (e.g., LGBTQIA+ University Caucus). **The GA may be required to provide transportation for students to conferences**
Special Skills or Training Required: Strong knowledge of LGBTQIA+ content, identities, and experiences. Demonstrated experience and/or desire to work and engage with diverse communities (specifically working with trans and queer communities). The GA should also have an understanding of social justice and community-specific needs.
