Graduate Assistant for Programs 
The Graduate Assistant role is a critical position that supports the mission of the Dowdy Multicultural Center.  
Responsibilities 
The Graduate Assistant is responsible for the following: 
  • Support the overall planning, communication and implementation of Dowdy Multicultural Center programs and services 
  • Work with the Assistant and Associate Directors on administrative tasks related to various programs including Kente Graduation Celebration, Cultural Heritage Months, Peer Mentoring Program, Brothers of Excellence Conference, Ruby Jones Conference, Multicultural Student Summit and others. 
  • Assist in assessment, evaluation, and research on various programs and services provided by the DMC. 
  • Assist in outreach and recruitment to engage students to participate in the various DMC programming and services. 
  • Utilize RamConnect, Doodle Poll, instagram, Canva, Trello, Excel, Microsoft Mail Merge and other programs for planning and implementation. 
  • Provide day of event support and guidance to undergraduate student staff.

 Additional responsibilities:  
  • Attend regular one-on-one meetings with supervisors. This position reports to the 
  • Associate and Assistant Directors of the Multicultural Center.  
  • Attend DMC staff meetings and event planning meetings as needed 
  • Prepare and submit written reports as requested  
  • Participate in collaborative projects with undergraduate students.  
  • Provide support for overall Dowdy Multicultural Center space and programs as assigned. 
  • Cultivate and maintain positive working relationships with staff, faculty and students 
  • across the campus community. 
Hours/Compensation 
The compensation is $12/hour with a range of 15-20 hours per week for the entirety of the academic year including breaks. The number of hours will be agreed upon after the successful candidate is identified. This is an hourly paid position and does not include a tuition waiver.
