Graduate Assistant - Teaching & Learning Center

This position in the Teaching and Learning Center (TLC) provides graduate students with the opportunity to work closely with instructional designers and faculty members while gaining experience in teaching, research, and program administration. The GA (Graduate Assistant) will assist faculty in building and updating course sites, developing course materials, and troubleshooting instructional technology issues. The GA will also provide research and administrative support for TLC initiatives. This may include conducting research on identified topics, analyzing program information, developing and editing content for websites, editing multimedia, and supporting event coordination. Applicants should be detail-oriented and comfortable learning new technology. Experience taking online or hybrid courses is a plus but not required.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams 
  • Interest and curiosity about teaching and learning  
  • Ability to conduct research on identified topics and analyze program information
  • Willingness to support program administration initiatives of the TLC
  • Skill in developing and editing content for websites and multimedia materials
  • Detail-oriented to ensure accuracy in tasks
  • Comfortable learning new technology and adapting to changes in the instructional environment
  • Ability to manage time across a variety of projects

Requirements:   

  • Must be a full-time Graduate Student at West Chester University (9 credits or more for the semester)
  • Must commit to 15-20 hours per week
  • Part-time or Full-time Summer hours may be available
  • Must be able to work on-site as needed
