CTQA Graduate Assistant
Description of Duties: The Graduate Assistant (GA) will assist in coordinating various programs and services for the Center for Trans and Queer Advocacy including but not limited to:
Oversee, plan, support, and implement programming initiatives such as the Ram I Am programs and the Queering the Conversation Series
Support Peer Educator student development, through job training and subject-based learning
Assist in general communications, marketing, visibility, and outreach efforts
Develop manuals, handbooks, presentations, and resource documents
Provide in-office support for LGBTQIA+ students, faculty, and staff
Facilitating specialized training based on their field of study and knowledge set
Oversee, and support campus initiatives, like the Lavender Garden housing community
Create on-campus and community resource guides through research, outreach, and partnerships
Support LGBTQIA+ focused student organization development as needed
Other duties as assigned
Benefits of the Positions: The GA will be provided various professional development opportunities, departmental meeting participation, and committee involvement (e.g., LGBTQIA+ University Caucus).
Special Skills or Training Required: Strong knowledge of LGBTQIA+ content, identities, and experiences. Demonstrated experience and/or desire to work and engage with diverse communities (specifically working with trans and queer communities). The GA should also understand social justice and community-specific needs.
