Graduate Assistant: Career Development Center 2025/2026
20 HOUR/WEEK GRADUATE ASSISTANTSHIP
The Twardowski Career Development Center (TCDC) is seeking an organized and self-motivated master's level graduate student for the 2025-2026 academic year. This Graduate Assistant position (20 hours/week) will focus on supporting the career education team with student appointments and document reviews in addition to tasks to aid other functional areas of the office. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, be comfortable taking initiative, and be ready to contribute to the approachable and inclusive environment of the Career Center.
Responsibilities:
- Receive training on the fundamentals and nuances of resume and cover letter writing to assist students virtually and in-person with developing job search documents.
- Conduct in-person and virtual appointments and/or drop-in hours with students and alumni on a spectrum of career needs including job/internship search, interviewing, networking, and major/career exploration.
- Become familiar with the center’s services, including website and technology resources such as Handshake, Big Interview, and Ram Nation.
- Present workshops and presentations on TCDC resources, Resumes and Cover letters, interviewing tips, and other possible career-related topics on an as-needed basis
- Assist with the implementation of career fairs and other events.
- Contribute to additional office initiatives and projects when needed.
Minimum qualification and/or skills required:
- Ability to work with a diverse student body utilizing a high level of cultural and emotional competence
- Dedicated to creating an environment that allows individuals to bring their full identities and a space where those with which we work feel seen, heard, and respected
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Effective time-management and organization skills while also being adaptable
- Comfortable with MS Office, Internet, and other technology/software tools
- Applicants must be enrolled in graduate studies (master's level) at West Chester University; at least 9 credits each semester (fall 2025 and spring 2026)
- Must be in good academic and judicial standing with the University
This is a 20/hour per week position with 12 12-credit tuition waiver and $5000/semester stipend.
